TRAIN MUSEUM

Those of you following TOH's blog will have already seen this adventure but you may like to read my side of the story.
On our second day here in LA, Bernie and Sonya took us to the Train Museum. I'm not sure who was the most excited, little Fox or Grandaddy. Yes we've changed his name from the traditional Swiss Grossvati to Granddaddy because Fox calls him 'daddy' which is okay because he calls Bernie 'Papa'.
Our happy little man.

Proud grandparents.

Mummy and Papa have a little rest.

While Fox plays with big trains and

Little trains. The museum was free or by donation. We were impressed.

  1. Little boys - and bog boys - and their trains. Such a love affair I've found, Diane.

  2. Ha ha ! I can see why you have no comment on photo #3. In years to come, young master Fox will get a giggle when he sees this.
I can't recall "Grossvati" having this photo on his report?????
Maybe way back in the 1950's on the "Moree Mail" night train taking college kids back to schools in Sydney should have had a similar sign. Those US museum photos of trains and carriages do have a 1950's look about them!
Mea culpa, mea maxima culpa for my close observations.
Keep having a great time and avoid background
    signs!
From he who hoped to become a Megastar re: Trains here in Qld yesterday.
    Cheers mate

  4. I been thinking of you and the expectant family a lot this week! It looks as though Sonja is holding on. Great that you arrived safely and seem rested. The oldest grandchildren tend to name the grandparents, I feel. John did for both our sets of parents and Eryn did for us. I love that all the "boys" love the train museum. What a cool place to visit. Keep safe and well. Jo

  6. How exciting! We have a train museum here in the Montreal area, but I have yet to see it, as it is difficult to get to by public transit, which is my method of transportation. Perhaps one day I will have the opportunity to see it, though. Thanks for sharing...I love trains.

  8. Looks like the proud grandparents are having a lot of fun with Fox and the trains.

My, all my grandsons would love this. They are crazy about trains.

Take care, and thanks for the post while you away from home. What kind of iPad did you purchase. I have been considering getting one myself. Thanks.

    1. We bought it last year. It is an iPad 2. I get frustrated with it as it is not as easy as my Macbook to use.

  10. These are cute pictures of Fox having the time of his life with those trains. I'm glad Granddaddy enjoyed it as well.

  12. Wuhoo, granny! Well done. And the name ... it surely does NOT disappoint. Where does the 'Foster' come from?

Tell Sonya and Bernie 'all the best' from me ... you and I know that two kids is much more that double one! But we'll keep that under our hat for now ... red wine time ... wuhoo ...

  13. Julie!
Well "The Man From Snowy River" rides again!
Foster???? Well, maybe Bernie likes that brand of beer???
And as for the red vino!! Most certainly a couple of bottles of 1987 "Chateauneuf du Pape", I know that Granddaddy William has a "slight" liking for a drop or two of that.
    Congratulations to the parents.
    Cheers

    1. Both wrong. Foster is one of Bernie's dad's names. Fox's middle name is William so both boys have their grandfather's name
