BACK HOME DOWN UNDER

After five weeks in California we have arrived home. It sure is a long way. 16 hours flying time and 6 hours hanging around airports. I found it difficult to blog while carrying out grandparent duties in L.A., so I hope you'll forgive me for not visiting your blogs in that time. We went to help out our daughter, Sonya, when she gave birth to our second grandson.
Granddaddy goes to sleep on the job.

Beautiful Banjo, its time for your first bath.

"Can I watch?" asks big brother, Fox.

So Mummy and Papa stand Fox on a step ladder so he can see Banjo having a bath in a special tub in the kitchen sink.

Proud Mum and Papa check out a newborn rash and hope that it will soon clear up, which it did.

  5. Welcome back.
So wonderful that you no doubt had a lovely time looking after your grandchildren plus living in another city.
Baby Banjo is certainly looking like his father...he has left his mark!
You captured the header photo so clearly, very good Diane.

  9. CONGRATULATIONS !!!! What sweet pictures.

Now I know why I have never visited Australia. 16 hours on planes plus six in airports. Wow! I just don't have that kind of stamina anymore. :)

wonderful grandbabies, though. Get some rest.

  10. Welcome back ! Can imagine that during grandma duties you had no energy left for blogging ! I only made the experience twice, and realize that I am not 30 anymore. The little Banjo seems to be just the opposite Fox ! One so blond and the other so dark !

I certainly understand why you weren't blogging while on Grandparent duty... I wouldn't either, I'm sure!!!!! BUT--I'm glad you made it home safe and sound...

  15. That header is.so.adorable! Really so sweet.

Both of your grands are so cute. I can imagine it was hard to stop snapping photos. Great you were able to visit when they needed you; you are real troopers willing to travel for that long. I get a little crazy when cooped up to travel from Philadelphia to Portland!

  17. Welcome home! What a lovely visit you had with those two charmers (and their parents).... that long flight was definitely worth it.

I can well believe that you didn't have time to blog. I wasn't blogging when our older three grands were small, but I do remember that when I was with them, NOTHING else got done... I was just with them ... that was my whole purpose in life at that moment!

  19. I've just spent a few minutes looking and reading about your wonderful 5 weeks of grandparenting, and at this point, (not having seen my grandkids for over a year), I'm REALLY, REALLY, REALLY, REALLY JEALOUS!! It looks like you both adapted and remembered well how to be grandparents....which is mainly to have great fun with those precious little ones. Congratulations to you all, what two beautiful grandsons you have!!! And I agree with Sallie, your header is wonderful. I'm glad you are safely home, and I'm sure you returned with many wonderful memories and photos!!! (We have also been traveling and just returned from New Caledonia. We will see our missionary friends at a meeting tonight and we will pass along the message from their friend. It certainly is a small world, isn't it???)

  22. I LOVE the new header!

Glad you were able to be there for the first few weeks, when all is chaos and grandparents can really be of assistance. You have a beautiful family! I'm sure, however, it's grand to be home.
